The First Telephone

In 1870s, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, and Elisha Gray also made a telephone.
They fought each other over which person invented the telephone first, and Bell won.
Bell offcially patented the telephone and formed Bell Telephone in 1876
AT&T was created in 1885 to connect local Bell companies. the telephone was created by acciedent. Bell was trying to form a invention that could send more than one telegraph at one time. The first telephone did not have a bel or a ringtone. A man named Thomas Watson created that bell. the telphone was the best way to comunicate. Less and less people wrote letters because they were calling instead.

The Telephone Now

Now the Telephone has changed dramaticly since 1876, they have become smaller, thinner and more techical. The phones are becoming peoples lives today. One of the most well known cell phone is the IPhone. the IPhone is touch screen accesible and has thousands of apps you can buy. All most everyone has a cell phone. They can reach someone from across the country. they have impacted american lives tremoundously. without cell phones or telephones we couldnt communicate the way we do today. we could send pictures, messages, anything you can think of, we would still be mailing letters to eachother if it wasn't for the telephone.
